TEHRAN, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Sunday unveiled a new naval ballistic missile, Tasnim news agency reported.
The missile, named Zolfaqar Basir, was put on display at the National Aerospace Park which was opened in the capital Tehran earlier in the day.
Zolfaqar Basir has a range of 700 km and its warhead is equipped with an optical seeker.
"We have been able to turn the (U.S.) sanctions into the opportunity for prancing progress in the defense industry," said Hossein Salami, chief commander of IRGC, at the unveiling ceremony, according to official IRNA news agency.
The IRGC on Sunday opened the National Aerospace Park as a permanent exhibition venue for IRGC's aerospace achievements. Enditem
