JERUSALEM, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan talked over the phone and agreed to meet "soon," the Israeli prime minister's office said in a statement on Monday.

The two leaders spoke on the phone over the weekend, in their first conversation since the signing of the normalization deal between their countries, the statement said.

"The prime minister and the crown prince agreed to meet soon," the statement read.

At the start of Israel's weekly cabinet meeting, Netanyahu referred to the crown prince as "my friend" and said they both invited each other to visit their countries.

Netanyahu said that during his talk with the crown prince, they discussed possible cooperation in the fields of tourism, investments, energy and technology.

Also on Monday, the Israeli cabinet approved the normalization accord with the UAE ahead of a vote on the deal in the Knesset, or the parliament, on Thursday. Enditem
