SOFIA, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Bulgarian Health Ministry on Wednesday morning reported a record high of 785 new confirmed COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours in the country, taking the national tally to 25,774.
The previous daily record of 612 new cases was reported on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the country's COVID-19 death toll has reached 923 after eight more patients died in the last 24 hours, the ministry said.
It also said that the number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients has risen to 1,307, with 64 in intensive care, while the number of infected medical staff has reached 1,415.
The ministry added that 164 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, raising the country's total recoveries to 16,139.
