563 new COVID-19 cases reported in Oman, 107,776 in total

MUSCAT, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Omani health ministry on Wednesday announced 563 new COVID-19 infections, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the sultanate to 107,776, the official Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

Meanwhile, 351 people recovered during the past 24 hours, taking the overall number of recoveries to 93,908, while eight others reportedly died, raising the tally to 1,061, according to a ministry statement quoted by ONA.

Oman had reintroduced a nighttime ban on movement and enforced the closure of shops and public places from Oct. 11 to 24, with restrictions effective from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. local time, ONA said.

The ministry urged everyone to adhere to social distancing instructions issued by the Supreme Committee and the ministry of health. Enditem
