DHAKA, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh reported 1,600 new COVID-19 cases and 15 new deaths on Thursday, bringing the total cases in the country to 384,559 and the total deaths to 5,608, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.

The official data showed the total number of recovered patients in the country stood at 299,229 including 1,780 new recoveries on Thursday.

According to the official data, 14,104 samples were tested in the last 24 hours across Bangladesh.

The COVID-19 fatality rate in Bangladesh is now 1.46 percent and the current recovery rate is 77.81 percent, said the DGHS.

Bangladesh recorded the highest daily new cases of 4,019 on July 2 and the highest number of deaths of 64 on June 30. Enditem
