National art museum exhibits giant Yellow River scroll painting

BEIJING, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- The National Art Museum of China has launched an exhibition featuring a giant oil-painting scroll on the Yellow River by Chinese artist Wang Keju.

The masterpiece is over 160 meters long and comprises 101 individual pieces on the topic of China's second-longest river.

Donated to the museum by Wang, the scroll is exhibited together with its sketches and color drafts, as well as 50 other artworks related to its creation.

To complete the work, Wang traveled more than 40,000 km, crossing eight provincial regions over a period of four years, said the organizer.

The exhibition runs until Oct. 25. Enditem
