MOSCOW, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- U.S. F-22 fighters escorted two Russian Tu-95MS strategic bombers when the Russian aircraft patrolled Far Eastern seas, the Russian Defense Ministry said Tuesday.

Two Tu-95MS bombers carried out a planned flight over the neutral waters of the Chukchi, Beaufort, Bering and Okhotsk seas for about 12 hours, the ministry's Zvezda broadcasting service reported.

At some stages of the route, the bombers were accompanied by Russia's Su-35S and MiG-31 jets as well as F-22 fighters of the U.S. Air Force, it said.

The ministry said the Russian aircraft strictly complied with international rules for the use of airspace during the mission. Enditem
