BEIJING, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- The park at the Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition in Yanqing District has received 400,000 visitors since it reopened to the public in March this year.

The park organized more than 170 events this year, becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations in Beijing, sources at a summit forum on the sustainable development of the expo park said.

Zhang Lannian, chief engineer of the expo park, said that after the conclusion of the Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition last October, the park has made the smooth transition from an exhibition site.

Since the beginning of this year, the park has put up attractive horticultural displays, organized cultural activities, and promoted integrated tourism, outdoor fitness and learning about nature, among others.

The park organized the first Beijing International Garden Festival from April to October, restoring the iconic floral landscape spread over nearly 50,000 square meters and more than 70 domestic and foreign exhibition gardens to recreate the landscape of the exhibition for visitors.

The expo, the world's largest of its kind, opened to the public on April 29, 2019. Enditem
