BRATISLAVA, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Despite being allowed to continue during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and upcoming soft lockdown of the entire country, Slovakia's top ice hockey league keeps losing teams to quarantine.

After Dukla Trencin was being forced to suspend its Tipos Extraliga activities on Thursday after nine players tested positive for COVID-19, HKM Zvolen became the latest addition to the rising number of sidelined clubs on Friday.

Several of Zvolen's players and staff members have tested positive and the club was forced to cancel its next three rounds.

Hungary-based team DVTK Jegesmedvek Miskolc failed to fulfill its Friday fixture in Nove Zamky after more than half its players were reported to be injured or ill.

Only Kosice and Michalovce were able to play their scheduled fixture on Friday. Enditem
