RIYADH, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Saudi-led coalition involved in a war in Yemen announced on Sunday the interception of a bomb-laden drone launched by Houthis militia.

The spokesperson of the coalition, Turki Al Maliki, said that the drone that was targeting the kingdom was destroyed in Yemen on Sunday afternoon, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The coalition announced earlier the interception of another bomb-laden drone launched toward the southern region of the kingdom in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The attacks were part of a series of such attempts, most of which were foiled before reaching their targets.

The civil war in Yemen started late 2014, and the coalition intervened in 2015 to support Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi. Enditem
