BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Argentina's President Alberto Fernandez on Tuesday said he was confident that by March of next year there will be a set of vaccines to effectively combat the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Argentina is carrying out "negotiations" and has "agreements in the process of being signed" with all the laboratories working on a vaccine, he said.

"Until then, all of us Argentines have to take care of ourselves," Fernandez said in an interview with FM Metro radio station, according to state news agency Telam.

"I hope that by March of next year, a large quantity of vaccines will be provided to those who are at risk. There will be a vaccine, I am sure, due to the evolution and development that many vaccines already have, that are already completing phase three" clinical trials, said Fernandez.

Argentina confirmed 29,301 deaths from COVID-19 and 1,102,301 cases of infection, as of Monday night. Enditem
