BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Sports stars from around the world sent their best wishes to Argentina's football legend Diego Maradona, who turned 60 on Friday.
"My great friend, Maradona. I will always applaud you. I will always support you. May your (life) journey be long, may you always smile, and make me smile, too! Happy birthday," wrote legendary Brazilian footballer Pele on Instagram.
Richy Castellanos, a Spanish public relations agent, created a video lasting over an hour in which Maradona was saluted by more than 150 sports personalities, including Cristiano Ronaldo, star of Italian side Juventus.
Maradona led Argentina to victory in the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, and established himself as one of the best players in the world.
On Friday, Maradona also kicked off his new charitable program "Las 10 del 10", through which he will be donating food, hygiene kits and other items to impoverished communities in Argentina. Enditem
