KABUL, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Three people, including a prominent journalist and advisor to Afghanistan's central bank, were killed in a bomb attack hitting a vehicle near a diplomatic neighborhood in Kabul on Saturday, the capital police confirmed.

Yama Siawash, advisor to Ajmal Ahmady, acting Governor of Da Afghanistan Bank on public relation affairs, was killed together with a senior official and a driver of the bank roughly at 7:30 a.m. local time, police spokesman Ferdaus Faramarz told reporters via a text message.

The official vehicle caught fire and was destroyed in the attack which occurred near Siawash's house in Maroryan-i-Char area of Police District 9 of the city, he said.

Siawash, a renowned journalist previously worked as an anchor in local TV channel Tolo News TV's political programs and was well-known for his profession in the political field.

Afghan journalists regarded the killing as a targeted attack.

No group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.

The Taliban militant group and militants of Islamic State (IS) have conducted scores of targeted attacks against civilians and military officials in recent years. Enditem
