Live COVID-19 updates: Myanmar reports 1,145 new COVID-19 cases, 28 more deaths

BEIJING, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

YANGON -- Myanmar reported 1,145 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the number of infections to 65,598 as of Thursday, according to a release from the Health and Sports Ministry.

The death toll has risen to 1,508 after 28 new deaths were reported in the past 24 hours, the release said.

DHAKA -- Bangladesh reported 1,845 new COVID-19 cases and 13 new deaths on Thursday, making the tally at 427,198 and death toll at 6,140, the Directorate General of Health Services said.

The official data showed that 17,112 samples were tested in the last 24 hours across Bangladesh.

VIENNA -- Austria on Thursday reported 9,262 new COVID-19 infections within the past 24 hours, another all-time high since the outbreak of the pandemic, according to data published by the Ministry of Interior.

So far, there have been 181,642 positive test results in the Alpine country. Currently, 3,811 people are in hospital for COVID-19 treatment, and 546 of them are in intensive care units, the data showed.

SINGAPORE -- Singapore's Ministry of Health reported 11 newly imported COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to 58,102.

On Thursday, 12 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 58,002 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities, the ministry said. Enditem
