PHNOM PENH, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen ended his 14-day self-quarantine at home after his final test conducted on Wednesday showed a negative result.
Hun Sen wrote on his official Facebook page that the results of the fourth and last tests indicated that he and his wife, Bun Rany, as well as his bodyguards and chauffeurs were negative for the virus.
"So, from tomorrow, Nov. 19, 2020, I will go to work or exercise outdoors like before Nov. 4; however, I still do not let my children and grandchildren come to my house yet in order to make certain that I don't have the virus to spread to them," he said.
Hun Sen started a self-isolation since Nov. 4, a day after meeting with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto, who tested positive for the COVID-19 following a diplomatic visit to Phnom Penh.
Four people, including three Cambodians and one Hungarian, have contracted the virus since then, while 1,802 have been placed under quarantine, Hun Sen said, adding that the samples of most of them were taken for the fourth and final tests on Wednesday and the results will be available in the following day.
Meanwhile, the Cambodian prime minister reminded people of wearing face masks, washing hands, keeping social distancing and avoiding crowds in order to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.
The Southeast Asian country has recorded a total of 304 confirmed COVID-19 cases since January to date, the Ministry of Health said, adding that none have died and 291 have recovered. Enditem
