BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- Brunei is looking for a new head coach for the national football team, Haji Matusin, the President of National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) said on Thursday.
"NFABD is currently considering the appointment of Brunei football's head coach. We have interviewed three candidates who are reputable in their respective ways. They are all excellent candidates with proven track records," the president was quoted as saying by local media.
The national football governing body showed its desire to improve the national team's current world ranking of 191st.
"We want to be in a respectable position and be seen as a formidable team," Haji Matusin said, adding that the national team's lack of preparation was one of the reasons they failed to showcase a good performance in the past.
According to the report, the president said that currently there is no decision made for the head coach position because of not only the technical evaluation but also the financial consideration of the prospective coach. Enditem
