DAR ES SALAAM, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Tanzanian authorities on Wednesday warned game rangers in the country's national parks and game reserves against conspiring with poachers.

"Game rangers who are implicated colluding with poachers will face the full force of law, including suspension from employment," said Allan Kijazi, the deputy permanent secretary in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism.

He said game rangers in the country's national parks and game reserves were supposed to be at the frontline of the anti-poaching campaign instead of conspiring with the poachers.

On Sept. 1, 2020, the Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA) promoted 1,800 rangers to various ranks to motivate them in the fight against poaching.

Fredrick Ambwene, acting conservation commissioner for the state-run TAWA, said the promotion of the rangers was aimed at encouraging them to seriously take part in anti-poaching activities. Enditem
