Turkey confirms 29,845 new COVID-19 cases

ANKARA, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Turkey recorded 29,845 new COVID-19 cases, including 6,592 symptomatic patients, Turkish Health Ministry said Friday.

The total number of COVID-19 patients in the country reached 481,198, said the ministry.

The death toll from the coronavirus in Turkey rose by 177 to 13,191, while the total recoveries climbed to 392,616 after 3,845 more patients recovered in the last 24 hours.

The rate of pneumonia in COVID-19 patients is 3.4 percent and the number of seriously ill patients is 4,816 in Turkey.

A total of 171,113 tests were conducted over the past day, with the overall number of tests reaching 18,072,981.

Turkey has reintroduced several restrictions to curb the rapid rise of coronavirus cases, including a partial curfew from 8 p.m. to 10 a.m. imposed nationwide on weekends. Schools will remain closed till the end of the year, with students switching to online education.
