BANGKOK, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Thai Airways International (THAI) will help promote the exports of Thailand's fresh fruits and vegetables to Asian and European markets, said a senior government official on Monday.
In cooperation with the government ministries of commerce, agriculture and transport, the airline has decided to take part in the move to promote Thailand's fresh fruit and vegetable exports to Asian and European markets, for a period from now to the end of next year, said Department of International Trade Promotion Director General Somdet Susomboon.
Major export markets for the Thai fresh fruits and vegetables include Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan and several European countries, according to the department head.
The step taken by the national flag carrier is expected to help make up for the sharp decline in its revenues from international passenger flights due to the impact from the global COVID-19 pandemic. Enditem
