LUSAKA, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Zambia's Ministry of Transport and Communication on Monday issued a travel alert for the country's truck drivers traveling to South Africa.
The alert comes in the wake of recent reports of one Zambian truck driver was stabbed while four trucks were burnt in South Africa.
Minister of Transport and Communication Mutotwe Kafwaya said truck drivers should not travel to South Africa until the security situation in that country improves.
He said the Zambian government was currently pursuing the matter with South African authorities using diplomatic channels, adding that the situation was a source of concern as it could affect trade in the region. Enditem
