PHNOM PENH, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia exported 601,045 tonnes of milled rice in the period between January and November this year, up 16.9 percent year on year, Agriculture Minister Veng Sakhon said on Tuesday.
China remained the top buyer, he said, adding that the kingdom sold 234,940 tonnes of milled rice to China during the January-November period, up 14.4 percent from the same period last year.
The minister said the Chinese market accounted for 39 percent of Cambodia's total rice export.
Meanwhile, the Southeast Asian nation also exported 188,436 tonnes of milled rice to the European market, up 8 percent year on year, he said, adding that the European market represented 31.3 percent of the kingdom's total rice export.
"Overall, our rice exports to all destinations during the first 11 months of the year were on the rise," Sakhon said.
Cambodia exports milled rice to 60 countries and regions in the world, he said. Enditem
