Water canal constructed in Afghanistan's Parwan province

KABUL, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- The Ministry for Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock has completed the construction of a water canal in Siagurd district of the eastern Parwan province, the state-run news agency, Bakhtar reported Wednesday.

Constructed at a cost of 13 million afghani and funded by the Ministry for Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, the canal would irrigate hundreds of acres of lands, the news agency quoted Khalil Rahman Omar, an official with the ministry as saying.

According to the official, the ministry for agriculture, irrigation and livestock would continue to launch more related projects to develop agriculture sector in the war-battered country. (1 U.S. dollar equals 77.13 afghani) Enditem
