BEIJING, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) Tuesday offered women's basketball national team members some picture books memorizing their successful Olympic qualification campaign eight months ago.

China punched the ticket to the Tokyo Olympic Games with a perfect record in the qualification staged in Belgrade, Serbia in February.

The team's head coach Xu Limin met part of his players during the Women's Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA) league in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Tuesday. The team was presented some picture books by the CBA President and Chinese basketball icon Yao Ming.

The book keeps track of some highlights during the team's preparation and appearance at the Olympic qualification, along with fans' best wishes to the team.

"The result we have achieved is attributed to great effort during the span, and it belongs to everyone. Thanks to everyone's commitment, the Chinese team could overcome obstacles and accomplish the mission," Xu said.

"We have made progress at one stage, but there remains difficulty ahead. We need to get it over and grasp our opportunity," he added.

"We cherish this experience a lot. I think when we open the book some day, we will be reminded of what we experienced early in 2020 when we fought for victory and dream. This is also a great memory for our descendants," the team captain Shao Ting noted.

For young center Li Yueru, it feels like returning to the court when flipping the book.

"We appreciate it a lot that fans always support us to go forward," she commented. Enditem
