Live COVID-19 updates: Greece reports 1,677 new cases

BEIJING, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

ATHENS -- Greece reported 1,677 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the national total to 119,720, authorities announced on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the country's death toll from the virus increased by 95 to 3,289, according to the National Public Health Organization.

HARBIN -- One new confirmed COVID-19 case was reported in the city of Suifenhe in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, authorities said Thursday.

The case is a 39-year-old man living in a residential compound in Suifenhe. The man, surnamed Xue, was loading and unloading imported commodities in a border trade area in the city from Nov. 30 to Dec. 4.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN -- Brunei reported no new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday with the national tally of cases standing at 152.

According to Brunei's Ministry of Health, no more recovery was recorded, maintaining the total number of recovered cases at 147. There are two active cases still being treated at the National Isolation Center.

COPENHAGEN -- Denmark's Minister for Health and Elderly Affairs Magnus Heunicke announced on Thursday an extension of the country's partial lockdown measures to include a further 31 municipalities as of 4 p.m. local time on Friday.

At a press conference, he also reported a new daily record of 3,132 coronavirus cases, which was a major spike after Wednesday's record of 2,558 daily cases. Enditem
