BEIJING, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Han Zheng on Tuesday called for unremitting efforts to push forward environmental protection inspections.

Efforts should be made to coordinate high-quality economic growth and environmental protection, Han said while chairing a meeting on environmental protection inspections.

The country has "zero tolerance" for acts that damage the environment and will speed up the improvement of its ecology to meet people's growing needs for a better environment, he said.
