KIEV, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian parliament approved the state budget for 2021, its official website reported on Tuesday.

According to the budget, the Ukrainian government is expected to have 1.092 trillion hryvnias (39.18 billion U.S. dollars) in revenues in 2021, while putting expenses at 1.328 trillion hryvnias (47.65 billion U.S. dollars).

It allows a budget deficit of 5.5 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP), the parliament's press service reported.

According to the document, Ukraine's GDP will grow by 4.6 percent in 2021, with consumer inflation at 7.3 percent.

In the budget, the Ukrainian government set defense and security spendings at 267 billion hryvnias (9.6 billion U.S. dollars).

Expenditures on medicine will amount to 159 billion hryvnias (5.7 billion U.S. dollars), which will provide for the medics' salaries increase by 30 percent, and 19.4 billion hryvnias (699 million U.S. dollars) is allocated to fight COVID-19, of which 2.6 billion hryvnias (94 million U.S. dollars) will be spent for vaccination.

And 150 billion hryvnias (5.4 billion U.S. dollars) will be allocated to the road infrastructure development "Big Construction" program. The support programs for small and medium-sized businesses will receive 12 billion hryvnias (432 million U.S. dollars).

Privatization next year should bring 12 billion hryvnias (432 million U.S. dollars) to the budget.

Commenting on the adoption of the 2021 state budget in his Telegram channel, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that this document is "balanced and realistic for implementation." He also noted that the approved state budget creates opportunities for the country's development. Enditem
