PARIS, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- German skier Vinzenz Geiger claimed his fourth World Cup win at his favorite venue, Ramsau am Dachstein, Austria, on Saturday, beating Jarl Magnus Riiber of Norway in a finish line sprint by 0.5 seconds.
Local skier Lukas Greiderer finished third, 1.3 seconds behind the winner.
Riiber continued to rule the jumping hill and secured the pole position with a jump of 94.5 meters. Holding a 25-second lead over last year's winner Geiger going into the race.
"I know that he always has good races here, especially in this altitude. It will be a tough one," said the Norwegian after the jumping event.
Riiber led the race over the first two laps but was caught by a group of fast pursuers, which included Geiger, on the third lap.
The 23-year-old Geiger raised his speed from the last downhill in Riiber's windshield to set himself up well for a tense sprint finish.
Another home skier Johannes Lamparter finished fourth while Germany's Fabian Riessle was fifth. Enditem
