ZHUJI, China, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Qingdao Eagles beat the Jiangsu Dragons 120-111 in the 21st round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Tuesday, despite Qingdao's key shooter Darius Adams being absent due to injury.
After launching a 7-0 run, the Eagles tied the game 16-16 and fell behind by one point when the first quarter ran out.
With Dakari Johnson scoring seven points in a row, Qingdao turned the tables 56-54 in the second quarter.
Extending their lead from behind the arc, the Eagles established a 13-point advantage before the last quarter.
Jiangsu narrowed the gap to 10 points with only one minute remaining.
Lin Weihan and Johnson stayed solid from the free-throw line to nail the victory for Qingdao.
Seven players scored double-digit points for Qingdao, as Johnson took a team-high 30 points and 10 rebounds, Yang Jinmeng had 22 points, and Zhang Chengyu added 20 points.
Dezmine Wells grabbed a game-high 33 points for Jiangsu, Wu Guanxi and Devin Williams each collected 17 points. Enditem
