Shanghai overturns Guangdong in CBA

ZHUJI, China, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- Marcus Denmon scored a game-high 29 points as the Shanghai Sharks came back to beat the Guangdong Southern Tigers 117-92 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league here on Monday.

Shanghai overcame a 10-point deficit to turn the table in the second half, outscoring the defending champions 39-17 in the last quarter.

Luo Hanchen had 22 points and Jimmer Fredette added 19 points and nine assists for Shanghai. Sonny Weems scored 20 points for Guangdong.

With a 14-3 run in the second quarter, Guangdong led 58-52 going into the half-time break.

Shanghai stormed to a 7-0 run after the break and ended the third quarter 78-75 ahead. Fredette inspired a 8-0 spurt in the beginning of the final period to help Shanghai clinch the victory. Enditem
