YANGON, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- The number of COVID-19 cases rose to 129,483 in Myanmar on Friday, as 711 new infections were reported in the past 24 hours, according to a release from the Health and Sports Ministry.
The death toll increased to 2,812 with 13 more deaths on Friday, while 112,876 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
Over 1.96 million samples have been tested for the virus in Myanmar since the country detected the first two cases on March 23 last year. Enditem
