PARIS, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Monday with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.10 percent, or 5.58 points, to close at 5,617.27 points.
A total of 23 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.
Stellantis N.V., the car company combining PSA Peugeot and Fiat Chrysler advanced 6.94 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Multinational steel manufacturing corporation ArcelorMittal S.A. rose 2.42 percent and French industrial group Bouygues gained 2.17 percent.
French multinational retailer Carrefour lost 6.92 percent. European commercial real estate company Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE went down by 3.26 percent.
