BUENOS AIRES, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Argentina has ordered restrictions on the frequency of flights to and from Brazil, the United States, Europe and Mexico due to the epidemiological situation caused by COVID-19, according to information released on Wednesday by the state news agency Telam.
The measure, adopted by the National Civil Aviation Administration, reduces flight connections with the United States, Europe and Mexico by 30 percent of current services, and 50 percent for Brazil.
The measure goes into effect on Wednesday, although its actual implementation will begin on Feb. 1, according to Telam.
The provision will be added to the already existing suspension of flights to and from the United Kingdom due to the new variant of coronavirus found in the European country in effect until Jan. 31.
As of Tuesday, Argentina had recorded 1,885,210 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 47,253 deaths, according to the Ministry of Health. Enditem
