MOSCOW, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- Russia registered 15,916 COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, the first time since Oct. 22 that the daily increase was below 16,000, the country's COVID-19 response center said Monday.
The national tally has thus increased to 3,983,197, with 77,068 deaths and 3,472,091 recoveries, the center said.
Moscow, Russia's worst-hit region, reported 1,728 new cases, down from 2,028 the previous day, taking the city's total to 945,452.
Nearly 104.8 million COVID-19 tests have been conducted across the country. Enditem
