HAIKOU, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese national team beat Chinese top-flight side Changchun Yatai 2-0 in a practice match on Tuesday.

Midfielder Wu Xinghan and striker Zhang Yuning scored for the national team respectively before and after the interval.

Naturalized player A Lan, also known as Alan Carvalho, came onto the field in the second half. He joined up with the Chinese side, which is holding a training camp in Haikou, Hainan province, last Wednesday after completing a mandatory quarantine.

Chinese Football Association (CFA) president Chen Xuyuan watched the game from the stand.

Li Tie, head coach of China, said he used the training camp to observe the players he will need to play at their remaining World Cup qualifiers, the date of which remains undecided due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Chinese side currently sits second of five teams in AFC qualifying Group A with seven points from four games, eight points behind group leaders Syria.

They have four first-phase qualifying matches still left to play. Enditem
