On a snowy day in February 2018, a nine-year-old boy carrying his younger brother on the back went downhill in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, on the way to his maternal grandfather's house at a relocation site. With the help of targeted poverty alleviation, Jijue Jizhu's family bid farewell to the adobe house in a mountainous area and moved to a spacious new house in Yuexi County in March 2019. The new house is located in an area with convenient transportation infrastructure. The biggest change for Jijue comes from education. Compared with walking for an hour and a half on the rugged mountain road every day to school in the past, Jijue and his sister now only need 15 minutes to walk to their primary school. Jijue, a sixth-grade student, has made many new friends in school, and is a school basketball team player. His younger sister joined the choir, while his youngest brother studying at a kindergarten.
