RIYADH, March 7 (Xinhua) -- The Saudi-led coalition involved in a war in Yemen announced on Sunday the start of a military operation against the Houthi militia in Yemen, Al Ekhbariya local TV reported.
The operation focuses on Houthi targets in Sanaa and some Yemeni governorates. The operation is a response to the recent escalation of Houthis drone and missile attacks against Saudi Arabia's cities, according to the report.
The coalition intercepted on Sunday ten bomb-laden drones in less than five hours.
The coalition will complete this month its sixth year of war in Yemen against the Houthi militia in support of the government of Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi. Enditem
