QINHUANGDAO, China, March 18 (Xinhua) -- Beijing continues its unbeaten run in the 2020-21 season of the Chinese men's volleyball league as it defeated Zhejiang 3-1 on Thursday while Shanghai bounced back from Wednesday's defeat to Beijing by sweeping Henan aside 3-0.
Beijing entered Thursday's game in high spirits as it had won all the three previous fixtures in the season. However, Zhejiang stunned Beijing to grab the first set, but Beijing revived quickly to register a comeback 3-1 victory (26-28, 25-19, 25-22, 25-12).
Beijing's opposite Jiang Chuan claimed a game-high 25 points, while Uros Kovacevic pocketed 20 points, and Zhang Guanhua led Zhejiang with 23.
In Wednesday's match, the defending champion Shanghai clawed back twice, dragging Beijing into the final set, but still failed to turn it around.
On Thursday, Shanghai vented its fury on Henan, as it showed no mercy to win in straight sets (25-23, 25-22, 25-20).
Wu Pengzhi and Dai Qingyao provided 14 points for Shanghai, while Zhejiang's Yu Shuo and Li Yize also pocketed 14.
Also on Thursday, Guangdong beat Liaoning 3-1, Jiangsu won Sichuan 3-1, Shandong dominated Hebei 3-0, and Tianjin conquered Fujian 3-0. Enditem
