ISLAMABAD, March 23 (Xinhua) -- A blast hit Pakistan's southwest Chaman city of Balochistan province on Tuesday, leaving at least four people dead including a child and 14 others injured, police said.

Police officials in the area told local media that a vehicle of paramilitary Pakistan Levies forces came under the blast attack on the Taj Road area of Chaman, bordering Afghanistan.

However, the officials did not confirm whether any security personnel were killed or injured in the explosion.

The bomb was planted on a motorbike parked near the vehicle and it was detonated with a remote-controlled device, said police.

Following the explosion, rescue teams, police and security forces rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and the injured to a nearby hospital where several among the injured were in critical condition.

Police and security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to arrest the culprits.

So far, no group or individual has claimed the attack. Enditem
