MUSCAT, April 11 (Xinhua) -- The Omani Health Ministry on Sunday announced 3,544 new COVID-19 infections, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the sultanate to 171,549, the official Oman News Agency reported.
Meanwhile, 2,815 people recovered during the past 72 hours, taking the overall recoveries to 152,784 while 29 deaths were reported in three days' time, pushing the tally up to 1,776, according to a ministry statement quoted by ONA.
The Gulf state's coronavirus committee had decided that that only citizens and residents would be allowed to enter its territory as of April 8 amid a growing number of COVID-19 cases which is pressuring the health care system. Enditem
