Brunei reports 1 new COVID-19 case, 224 cases in total

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, April 28 (Xinhua) -- Brunei reported one new case of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the national tally to 224.

According to Brunei's Ministry of Health, Case 224 is a 38-year-old woman who arrived in the country from Egypt via Kuala Lumpur on April 16, 2021. Investigation and contact tracing have confirmed six close contacts for this case, who have all been instructed to undergo the COVID-19 virus tests.

The new case is being treated and monitored at the National Isolation Center with other five active cases, who are all in a stable condition.

With the detection of this case, a total of 83 imported cases have been confirmed since the last local infection case on May 6, 2020. Brunei has recorded 357 days without local COVID-19 infection cases.

There have been three deaths and 215 recovered patients from COVID-19 so far in Brunei. Enditem
