BEIRUT, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese President Michel Aoun urged on Tuesday the international community to intervene and put an end to Israel's aggression against Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem.
"There is no peace without justice, and no justice without respecting rights," the president said in a statement released by Lebanon's Presidency.
Aoun also saluted the steadfastness of the Palestinian people while adding that "adopting the principles of tyranny, displacement and deprivation of rights will only lead to more violence, persistence in injustice, and violation of international laws and decisions related to the Palestinian right of establishing an independent state."
