Kuwait's total COVID-19 cases surpass 290,000

KUWAIT CITY, May 14 (Xinhua) -- The Kuwaiti Health Ministry reported on Friday 763 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total number in the country to 290,006.

The ministry also announced seven more fatalities, taking the death toll to 1,681, while the tally of recoveries rose by 1,191 to 275,745. A total of 12,580 COVID-19 patients are receiving treatment, including 190 in the intensive care units.

The Kuwaiti government has lifted the partial curfew, but all commercial activities are still suspended from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. local time, except for pharmacies, food marketing outlets, restaurants, and maintenance services.

Restaurants and cafes are allowed to receive orders but only for takeaways on their doorstep. Enditem
