WARSAW, May 28 (Xinhua) -- The striker Arkadiusz Milik and the midfielder Piotr Zielinski will be ruled out from Tuesday's friendly match against Russia in Wroclaw, Polish media reported on Friday.
The team coached by Paolo Sousa has already started their training camp in Opalenica before the UEFA Euro 2020 final tournament. The Portuguese will check the form of his players in two friendly games as on Tuesday they will host Russia in Wroclaw, while on June 8 Robert Lewandowski and his teammates will face Iceland in Poznan.
In Wroclaw Poland will have to compete without the striker of Olympique Marseille, Arkadiusz Milik, who sustained an injury in the French league game against FC Metz. The Spanish surgeon Ramon Cugat confirmed that there will be no need for Milik to undergo an injury, but his performance on Tuesday is impossible.
"I assumed from the beginning that the operation would not be needed. However, this is medicine, and although the injury is minor, you cannot be sure. The plan was clearly set and everyone knew it. Arek will slowly and gradually return to training, he will play for the Euro," Poland's doctor Jacek Jaroszewski explained.
Not only Arkadiusz Milik but also SSC Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski will be missing in Tuesday's match. The 27-year-old was given permission from Paulo Sousa to leave the training camp in Opalenica on Friday, as his wife is expecting a baby. He will return to the training camp on June 2, just after the match in Wroclaw.
