DAMASCUS, July 22 (Xinhua) -- Syrians in the capital of Damascus happily celebrated the Eid al-Adha, or feast of sacrifice, this year with various activities, including visiting parks, attending annual flowers show, and watching dances at the popular marketplace.
In the past two years, life has gradually returned to normal in the war-torn country thanks to the defeat of the Islamic State (IS) militants in 2019 and the government's consolidated control over most of its territory after 10 years of civil war.
