BEIJING, July 29 (Xinhua) -- China Global Television Network (CGTN) on Thursday broadcast a documentary that chronicles the life and work stories of ordinary people in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The film crew of the documentary, titled "On the Road to Happiness," visited several places including Aksu, Kashgar and Urumqi in Xinjiang, Jinhua in Zhejiang Province, and Dongguan in Guangdong Province to record the real work and life scenes of eight people.

The 52-minute documentary features their inspiring stories of creating a better life and realizing their dreams by working diligently.

The documentary shows how people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang strive to improve their living standards, realize self-fulfillment and progress together with the rest of the country.

It also tells about the protection of workers' rights by governments at all levels and factually refutes the fallacies of "genocide" and "forced labor" in the region among some people overseas. Enditem
