BEIJING, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Action film "Raging Fire," starring Hong Kong action actor Donnie Yen, dominated the Chinese mainland box office on Sunday, figures from the China Movie Data Information Network showed on Monday.
Focusing on a story about police hunt for a gang of drug traffickers, the film ended its third day of screening with daily earnings of around 85.49 million yuan (about 13.22 million U.S. dollars), accounting for more than 50 percent of the day's total.
Following its lead was romantic comedy "Upcoming Summer." It generated nearly 36.68 million yuan on Sunday.
Coming in third was animated film "White Snake 2: The Tribulation of the Green Snake," the latest cinematic production centered on the ancient Chinese legend of the White Snake. The film pocketed nearly 25 million yuan on the tenth day since its debut. Enditem
