TEHRAN, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Iran's government expects to earn 864 million U.S. dollars from the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector in the coming 2019 fiscal year, Eghtesadonline news website reported Saturday.

The figures post nine-percent decline compared with the projected ICT income of 942 million dollars in the 2018 fiscal year ending March 20.

The report is based on the study by the Iranian parliament (Majlis) Research Center of the next year's budget bill which was presented by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to the Majlis last month.

Main sources of the government revenue are expected to be telecom operators leasing infrastructure from the government and fees people will pay for their new electronic national ID cards, according to the study.

With the galloping inflation taken into account, the government ICT income will even shrink more than what the above figures indicate, the study said.

Recent data published by the Central Bank of Iran showed that Iran's year-on-year inflation rate reached 39.9 percent in November 2018, the highest in the past five years.
