CAIRO, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- The Egyptian armed forces sent on Thursday a military plane loaded with medical and food supplies to Mali to help it fight the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The cargo included "large quantities of medical supplies, disinfectants, medical face masks, protective suits and foodstuffs," said Egyptian military spokesman Tamer al-Refai in a statement.
The aircraft left Cairo earlier on Thursday heading to Bamako to deliver the aid, according to the statement.
Since the beginning of COVID-19 crisis, Egypt has sent several batches of medical and humanitarian aid to other African countries, including Sudan, South Sudan, Zambia and DR Congo. Enditem
