BEIJING, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian and Israeli peace advocates reached a series of consensus to promote the settlement of the Palestine-Israel issue at a peace symposium here on Friday.

Meeting with the attendees at the symposium, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, said the two sides affirmed that a "two state solution" is the only viable option to resolve the issue.

The symposium was held by China from Dec. 21 to 22. Nabil Shaath, foreign affairs adviser to the Palestinian president, and Hilik Bar, deputy speaker of the Knesset, the Israeli parliament, led delegations at the symposium.

Participants from the two sides also agreed that the international community should support the revival of Palestine-Israel peace process and enact a series of political and economic incentives, according to a document from the symposium. They praised China for offering a communication platform for them.

"As a responsible country and a common friend of both Palestine and Israel, China is willing to continue to make contributions to an early realization of Palestine-Israel peace," Wang said.
