KAMPALA, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has cautioned the Football Federation to put the money they raise from gate collections to efficient use.
"You must make early planning for sustainable budget allocations as well as efficient use of gate collections and revenues generated," the President said during a luncheon with athletes.
"Our teams need stamina, to be focused and don't get tired from running around. This idea of stamina and skill is important. The tactics come later," said the President.
The President also announced that the national football team will be given a new team bus. He also made it clear that families of the deceased and the injured following an accident in 2015 when the Uganda Cranes bus knocked a small bus will be compensated with about 290,000 U.S. dollars.
The accident happened on Kampala Highway when the Cranes team was coming from meeting with President Museveni at the State lodge in Soroti. Some of the Cranes players were injured, while other passengers in the small bus died.
